Squash it is!- Dipika Pallikal

Little Dipika played her first international squash tournament as early as, in the 6th grade. Genetically blessed by Sanjiv George and Susan Itticheria, born in a Malyali family, she was destined to conquer the stars. At a tender age of 23 she has won Dutch Open, German Open, Scottish Open, Australian Open and French Open, on the European Junior Squash Circuit.

Her professional career started in the year 2006 but it was kicked up a notch in 2011 after a concise training in Egypt. She secured her first WISPA titles in September 2011 by winning the Orange County Open.

Today she has been declared as the first Indian woman to smash into the top 10 women squash players in the WSA rankings. As a result of her performance in World Open 2012, she has made India proud with her 14th position in the world ranking after breaking all earlier records.

Hats off to her for achieving Arjuna award in 2012 and Padma Shri in 2014 at this early stage in her life. Her commitment and diligence towards her game is evident through the ever climbing graph of her performance.

Symbolizing the new generation she is also involved in ecommerce aspects of sports. She is the proud brand ambassador of sports 365, an online sports store selling sports and fitness equipments.
Recently the announcement of her wedding to Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has kept her in the limelight.
